A Global Project to Help Two Hospitals in Ukraine

Rotary members in Rotary SE PA District 7450 are being asked to help Ukrainian wounded soldiers and civilians. A plan to transport medical supplies and equipment is moving forward if area clubs can raise $7000.
The Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary Club has already raised $23,000 to get the critical medical aid moving. Their hope is that local Rotarians can help raise the final $7,000 to cover shipping.
"Thanks to a generous in-kind donation from Project C.U.R.E. (valued up to $400,000), we have access to a fully stocked cargo container—free of charge," according to Dennis Wallace of the GWCSRC. "Our role? Raise the final $7,000 to cover shipping."
Project C.U.R.E.’s Katie Hanlon will handle packing and logistics from their Chicago warehouse. On the ground in Ukraine, Brock Bierman of Ukraine Focus will coordinate delivery and ensure the cargo reaches the selected hospitals safely. Ukraine Focus has a local representative, Oleksandr Reshetkov, who will work closely with the hospitals, government, and Rotary clubs, and provide regular updates—including video proof of delivery.
"We’ve done this before—successfully—in Mexico. Now we’re calling on clubs in District 7450 to help us do it again," says Wallace.
He adds, "This is a unique opportunity to provide urgent, life-saving resources to those affected by the ongoing crisis. By supporting this initiative, Rotarians can directly contribute to alleviating the suffering of individuals, empowering local healthcare systems, and demonstrating Rotary’s commitment to global service in times of dire need.
Anyone interested in participating should contact the President of Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary, Susan Carty, at Cartysusan@gmail.com or 484-356-5568. Partner clubs will be recognized and kept in the loop throughout the project.
