Rise Against Hunger + Rotary Speech Contest Finals

  • Rise Against Hunger 400 East Pothouse Road (map)

The Rotary Southeastern PA District 7450’s service project will be packing 17,000 meals between 1 and 3 p.m. to support Rise Against Hunger’s mission to help underserved people worldwide achieve food security and resilience through nutrition, education and economic empowerment.

We will also be holding the finals of the Roger Taylor Rotary Speech Scholarship Contest at the same time frame.

The Rotary Speech Contest is a competition for high schoolers to illustrate the Rotary Four-Way Test. Students prepare and delivery a five to seven minute speech. The speech contest helps students by nurturing ethical decision making, developing writing and public speaking skills, and empowering advocacy for causes they care about. It is free for students to enter and the top winners receive cash prizes.

The link to register to volunteer is below, it will also ask for donations if anyone would like to donate to offset the cost of the event. You do not need to be a member of Rotary to join the project. All volunteers are welcomed!
