Help Given to Food Pantries

With the help of Rotary International District Grant and club funding, Philadelphia Rotary is securing the purchase of two refrigerators and pantries along with supplies to stock the South Philly Community Fridge which operates food refrigerators and pantries in the local area. 

Studies show that nearly 1 in 5 Philadelphia families struggle with hunger, and food pantries' demand for fresh produce has increased 3 times since 2019. 

The South Philly Community Fridge redirects over 50 tons of perfectly good food per year from restaurants and grocery stores to those in need, reducing environmental impact on landfills.
